Dr. Prabhu Prasad N C has a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of RGUHS, Bangalore & a Master’s degree in Pulmonary medicine from BFUHS, Punjab. He undertook further specialized training and received a DNB – a Post Graduate degree in Respiratory diseases from Army Hospital(Research and Referral) New Delhi. He had super-specialty training in Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology from the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore(CMC, Vellore). Has advanced Interventional Pulmonology training from National Cancer Centre, Tokyo & Nagoya Medical Centre, Japan.
On completion of the postdoctoral fellowship he spent a year working at the university hospital, Manipal University, Manipal & later joined Manipal healthcare group. He is currently an interventional pulmonologist and an active member of the Manipal comprehensive Oncology center, Manipal Hospitals Goa – the pioneer among the regional cancer centers in Goa.
He has to his credit of establishing the state-of-the-art interventional Pulmonology Clinic in Manipal Hospital Goa and to have performed the first Medical Thoracoscopy procedure, EBUS(Endobronchial Ultrasound) guided FNA, Whole Lung Lavage procedure & complex Airway stenting procedures in the Konkan region.
He has a special interest in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for benign and malignant diseases of the lung and pleura, including Therapeutic Bronchoscopy, Endobronchial Ultrasound, Rigid Thoracoscopy, Daycare Pleuroscopy, Ambulatory pleural care & Lung transplantation.
His vision is to establish “State of art Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology with extraordinary Lung transplantation and palliative pulmonology program.
He is the Founder and Founding Secretary-General of the Palliative Pulmonology Association. He is a member of prestigious organizations like the European respiratory society, World Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology & Indian Association of Bronchology.
