A patient Mrs, Ghadi was reffered for Shortness of breath, also called dyspnea, Chest pain or tightness, Low levels of oxygen in the blood & also weight loss.
Introduction
Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis is a rare disorder in which the air sacs of the lungs (alveoli) become
plugged with a protein and fat-rich fluid. Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis typically affects people who are
aged 20 to 50 and with no history of lung disease
Treatment
This procedure, while known to be extremely challenging, can decrease
the symptoms and improve the oxygenation in the affected patient. This procedure was performed in a
major OT under general anaesthesia with a specialised anaesthetic technique that washed the whole
lung with many litres of warm saline to remove the milky substance, thereby allowing our patient Mrs.
Gadhi to breathe easily. However, our patient will require this process a few more times in order to
completely recover
Conclusion
The said procedure will have to repeated a few times for complete recovery.
